Where high pointing accuracy is required for radar or narrow beam directional antennas, Will-Burt offers Tight Azimuth designs. The twist in Will-Burt pneumatic masts range from +/- 1° to 3° depending on the diameter and number of sections in the mast.

Heavy-duty and super heavy-duty non-locking masts can be configured with tapered wedge keys and tight fitting collars. With the mast fully pressurized, this combination reduces azimuth twist to between 0° and +/- 1° (depending on the torque load applied).

Heavy-duty and super heavy-duty locking masts can be configured with close azimuth latch pins and matching tapered latch plates on each section. Along with tight fitting collars, azimuth twist in fully extended masts can be reduced to between 0° and +/- 1°.
